How can I make my teeth whiter?
There are few ways to whiten your teeth such as: over-the-counter products, in-office whitening, or the permanent shade correction with veneers. For In-Office teeth whitening we use “Lumi-White” teeth whitening system, the bleaching gel will be applied to the front surface of the teeth and activated with the Sapphire Light. Each session is 15 minutes long, majority patients require 2-3 sessions. In Office-Teeth whitening works well for the organic stains such as: tobacco or age-related discoloration and coffee/tea/wine staining. However, it will not work for inorganic stains such as: tetracycline darkening, or discoloration after the tooth trauma. In those cases, the dental veneers will work the best. What is the difference between composite and porcelain veneers?
Composite Veneers are usually done chairside in single visit. The composite material applied and sculpted on the prepped tooth surface and cured with the light. They are more cost effective, but usually less durable. Porcelain Veneers on the other hand are fabricated in the off-site dental lab and require two appointments to complete. They are also more durable and most importantly offers excellent cosmetic result due to natural porcelain properties like translucency.
